My Samsung Vibrant Rom 2011 Review..

This is an update page to the old Vibrant Rom/Root/Jailbrake page. Installing a new ROM, or rooting your phone hasn't been easier than simply downloading Rom Manager, found in the Android Marketplace on your Android phone.

2011-06-31: Current ROM on my Vibrant is: Trigger 3.3 Beta, Kernel 2.6.32.9, Build number FROYO.UVKB5, Firmware version 2.2, Baseband version T959UVKB5

  • This ROM is quick, efficient, and comes with the MTM WP7 keyboard, which, in my opinion, is better than the Swype keyboard that corrupts itself in a matter of a days' use.
  • The email application doesn't hang forever when trying to refresh the INBOX
  • The Unlock Screen Options come with 7 ways to unlock the screen: I like the 4-TAB unlock screen option because when you unlock the screen, you get 4 shortcuts to jump into immediately after screen unlock. They are: Dialer, Text messaging, ringer off, and plain unlock.
  • Battery life is extended compared to the last Br1ck'd Rom. This ROM comes with a handy BatteryCalibration App to reprogram the battery meter.
  • The Ringer and notification sounds are fresh and new, which give the phone a totally different feel.
  • The stock Wallpapers that come with Trigger 3.3 Beta are eloquent.
  • Theming is a beautiful dark theme, which saves power on the Vibrant Display.
