Roland HD-1 V-Drums Lite Electronic Drums
Unlike the many toys we buy, play with for a while, then get bored of, the Roland HD-1 V-Drums I purchased from Best Buy a few months ago has not gotten old. As a matter of fact, I've progressed in my rhythm and metering by a 1000%.
I never knew banging on things could be so much fun.
Hands down, a real analog drum kit wins for its simplicity, but for an overall consumer value, think about the tradeoffs:
- Electronic Drums can be quiet with ear phones, whereas with a real analog kit, picking the hour in which to play is often challenged.
- With electronic drums a person doesn't have to switch out equipment to get different sounds. It's a simple push button kit change or through the use of Midi and programs like Garage Band or Logic Express, a kits' sound can be changed in seconds.
- If you ever wanted to record a midi track with an analog kit, you'd have to purchase some pricy top notch pickup gear.
- Electronic Drums can be hauled over your shoulder to the mid-week open mic with ease. Most open mics have a PA.. So midas well use it!
Overall, my Roland HD-1 V-Drums Lite kit has been a great investment and has overall increased talent, metering, and exercise. :)
Though pricy, I would still recommend this quality gear to anyone looking to get started in drums.
