F-Spot is a lousy choice for photo management. It takes less effort to browse ones pictures in a folder than to use F-Spot Photo manager.
2010-02-06: F-Spot is consuming 71% CPU and 7.6% memory, and apparently doing all sorts of work in the background, which causes the image thumbnails to disappear and eventually the application vanishes in thin air. Question 1) Why is the program updating the database while trying to browse the timeline of images? 2) What background process in F-Spot could take 10 plus minutes to complete when all the images had been imported days ago? 3) When I launch a program, it's suppose to do something for me, not for it.. If it needs to do something to tidy up, then it should run a scheduled process when I'm not needing it.
